Come

Come.

It’s an invitation that I kept hearing today.

It was there in the scripture that I read as part of my daily study.

It was there in the exact same scripture that showed up in the one chapter I managed to read today during the girls quiet time.

It was there in a quiet whisper as I rushed out the door to pick up groceries before having to do the preschool pick up.

It was there as a reminder as I called my own daughter to come.

It is an invitation I have a tendency to ignore.

It would be easier to brush it off.

It would be easier to say “I’m too busy, I have too much to do, right now is not a good time.”

It would be easier to keep pretending I have things all under control.

It would be easier to keep masking any weariness or hurt I may be feeling.

It is an invitation I can’t afford to ignore.

To come means to not wait till I have things figured out on my own.

To come means to surrender control and expectations of perfection.

To come means to quiet the noise and chaos and find true rest.

To come means to know and be known.

It is an urgent invitation, to come now and follow.

It’s an invitation that perhaps you need to hear today as well.

Come.
